When you browse the Web, you know how annoying ads can be. They blink, blink, and stay in general on the way. If you’re really out of luck, they might even be dangerous. Adblock Plus removes ads from the pages you’re viewing, leaving a clean, silent white space on your treadmill.

This add-on works by using filters. If certain elements are present on a page, the extension filters them. There are several ready-made filters available, and you choose how much you want from Adblock Plus settings menu.

If you are something more technical-capable, you will also be able to create your own filters, or mark previously unfiltered items by right-clicking on them and choosing the block element. This is facilitated by the Developer Tools pane that displays blocked items along with applied filters.

In Adblock Plus settings options you will also be able to add certain sites to white lists (to exempt them from blocking) and change some other options. You can also see the Adblock Plus icon in the Address bar, and click it to turn Adblock Plus on and off in one click.
